Terms and Conditions for use of AFTAL Authentication Services
1. Introduction and Definitions
Welcome to our Autograph Authentication Service. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our authentication services. By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Definitions:
- "Service Provider" refers to [AFTAL Authentication Ltd], its employees, and agents.
- "Client" refers to any individual or entity submitting items for authentication.
- "Item" refers to any autograph, signature, or signed memorabilia submitted for authentication.
2. Services Offered
We offer the following authentication services:
- Mail-in Verification: Submit your items via post for thorough examination.
- In Person visit from a member of the Authentication team: For large collections you can Schedule a home/office visit for on-site authentication.
- On-Site Authentication Services: Book an Authenticator for a Private Autograph Signing or Event
- On Site Autograph Witness Service: Book an Authenticator to witness and Authenticate your Private Autograph Signing or Event - In Person Service.
- Digital Signature Analysis: Submit high-resolution digital scans for quick opinions on authenticity.
- Official QR coded AFTAL hologram: Authentication Stickers for verification purposes.
- Authentication Certificates upgrades: Receive official certificates for authenticated items.
3. Authentication Process
Our authentication process includes:
- Visual inspection
- Signature comparison
- Historical research
- Application of personal collecting experience
We employ a rigorous, multi-step process to ensure the highest level of accuracy. However, please note that authentication is an opinion-based service and absolute certainty cannot be guaranteed.
4. Pricing and Payment Terms
Our pricing structure is as follows:
- Quick Opinion: £10
- Full Authentication Service: £39.99
- Includes examination, Official Aftal QR Hologram Sticker, and Official AFTAL database registration of autograph.
- Letter of Authenticity Upgrade: £10 per item
- Return Tracked Postage: £8.95
Payment is due in full before the authentication process begins.
5. Turnaround Time
While we strive to provide timely service, turnaround times may vary based on service type and current workload. We do not guarantee specific completion dates unless explicitly agreed upon in writing.
6. Liability and Limitations
AFTAL Authentication Ltd liability is limited to the authentication fee paid. We are not liable for:
- Misattribution of authenticity, provided we have followed our standard procedures
- Damage during handling, except in cases of gross negligence
- Consequential damages or lost profits resulting from our opinions
- Delays in service delivery, unless specifically guaranteed in writing
7. Refund Policy
Refunds are available only in cases where we fail to provide the agreed-upon service. Disagreement with our authentication opinion does not qualify for a refund.
8. Confidentiality
We treat all client information and item details as confidential. However, we reserve the right to use images of authenticated items for educational or marketing purposes, unless the client explicitly opts out.
9. Dispute Resolution
"If any disagreements arise concerning these Terms or the services we provide, they will be resolved through arbitration proceedings in [English Law], following the relevant laws of [United Kingdom]."
10. Amendments to Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
By submitting an item for authentication, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
