Since 1999, Luke has been collecting autographs in person from the world of entertainment and music, with a primary focus on film. What started as a childhood hobby evolved into a full-time business. Based in the United Kingdom, he has traveled worldwide to obtain autographs in cities such as London, New York, LA, Washington D.C, Paris, and San Diego.
Previously, he worked for an autograph authentication company based overseas. Now, with the opportunity to offer much-needed assurance to UK collectors, he’s excited to bring his knowledge and expertise to AFTAL Authentication LTD.

My Approach to Autograph Authentication

In-Person Signatures: Understanding the Context:I recognize the complexities that come with authenticating in-person signatures. The environment in which a signature is obtained can greatly impact its characteristics. For instance, a signature obtained in a rushed, chaotic situation for the celebrity will have a looser, different feel compared to an autograph signed in an unpressured, organized signing environment.

Balanced and Informed Opinion: By understanding the nuances and circumstances under which a signature is obtained, I strive to offer a balanced, informed opinion on authentication. This means considering factors such as the celebrity’s behavior, the setting, and the time constraints they were under. My goal is to provide collectors with an educated assessment that truly reflects the authenticity of each signature.

Evolving Trends: Modern-day autograph collecting and authentication have become increasingly dynamic. Celebrities’ signatures often evolve over time, becoming shorter and looser in their consistency. Staying on top of these trends is essential for accurate authentication.

Years of Experience: My years of experience in the field have honed my ability to recognize authentic signatures, even as they change. I continuously update my knowledge and keep an eye on the latest signing trends. This expertise allows me to accurately identify genuine autographs.
